2. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information: Your name, email address, username, and password when you create an account.
- Profile information: Profile photo, bio, and location (city/state) if you choose to add them.
- Business information: If you list a business, we collect the business name, address, category, ownership type, photos, hours, and contact details you provide.
- Content: Posts, reviews, comments, and collections you create within the app.
- Communications: Emails or messages you send to us.
Information collected automatically
- Location data: With your permission, we use your location to show nearby businesses. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.
- Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version for technical support purposes.
- Usage data: Features you use, pages you view, and searches you perform to improve the app experience.
- Push notification tokens: To send you notifications you have opted into.
Information from third parties
- Google Sign-In: Your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Apple Sign-In: Your name and email address (or private relay email) if you choose to sign in with Apple.

- Show you nearby diverse-owned businesses

- Process payments for Premium subscriptions via Stripe

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- With other users: Your public profile, posts, reviews, and public collections are visible to other DiverseBiz users.
- Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate DiverseBiz including AWS (file storage), Google Maps (mapping), Stripe (payments), and Firebase (notifications). These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and may only use your data to provide services to us.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
- Business transfers: If DiverseBiz is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before this happens.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on our servers hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Your photos and files are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never store your payment card details on our servers.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access: You can view your personal information in your account profile at any time.
- Edit: You can update your profile information at any time in the app settings.
- Delete: You can request deletion of your account by emailing rsull@diversebiz.co. We will delete your data within 30 days.
- Location: You can disable location access in your device settings at any time.
- Notifications: You can disable push notifications in your device settings or in the app.
- Marketing emails: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
7. Children's Privacy
DiverseBiz is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at rsull@diversebiz.co and we will delete it promptly.

DiverseBiz may contain links to third-party websites and business profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
